Early on in the development of Union Point, VERTEX was retained as the Owner’s Representative to the Master Developer of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. The project totals 1,400 acres of mixed-use development including: conservation land, residential property, commercial space, retail space, movie studios, an 18-hole golf course, and a sports complex. VERTEX services during the pre-construction phase included feasibility studies, cost estimate preparation, and construction management plan preparation. During the construction phase VERTEX provided oversight of the construction for all infrastructure to support development, builder coordination, and project reporting.
Along with Owner’s Rep services, more recently, VERTEX has also provided TI (Tenant Improvement) and environmental consulting during various stages of the development. VERTEX took on several labor intensive hands on projects for the client. Projects included securing over a dozen vacant navy buildings per state fire code regulations, clearing low growth vegetation from around vacant building, repairs to aging infrastructure, and other small property management related projects.
