VERTEX served as the surety’s completion contractor for the $30M Student Center and Auditorium project at Finger Lakes Community College. In a highly litigious environment, VERTEX thrived in completing the general contractor’s $80M scope of work, which included: overseeing more than 20 subcontractors and coordination with 12 other prime contractors on the project. The building featured structural steel framing as well as cast-in-place concrete decking. The exterior is clad with split faced block, storefront and aluminum composite panels. Interior finishes included vinyl composite tile, pre-cast terrazzo, polished concrete, drywall and sensitive wood finishes including: curved wood paneling, fabric covered acoustical panels, and wood stage flooring.
VERTEX’s responsibilities included: evaluation and repair of large scale concrete imperfections, on-site supervision and coordination of trades, contract document preparation, construction administration and coordination as well as submittal/closeout management. VERTEX was also responsible for collecting, evaluating and submitting LEED project documents on this certified LEED Silver project.
