VERTEX was requested to investigate damage from flooding at a property in South Carolina. The scope of work included an evaluation of the extent of damage and to provide a repair protocol for this 18-hole championship golf course property where alleged damages were caused by storm-related flooding. Damages included water impacts to the site structures, sink holes, course erosion, and a comprised retaining wall.
VERTEX utilized a team of forensic specialists which identified the root cause of the damages to be from a drainage system failure and not the flooding event. Additionally, subsurface data indicated corrosive properties (to metal and concrete) within underlying soils which exacerbated the drainage system’s condition. VERTEX’s conclusions allowed our client to allocate costs between multiple parties and also to establish proper repair protocols for the damages incurred.
