Project no: # 21065.00

Two-phase renovation and reconfiguration of perioperative and procedural spaces at Halifax Health, expanding capacity and modernizing workflows while maintaining operations.

Halifax Health Medical Center

The Challenge

The client needed to renovate, relocate, and reconfigure existing procedural and perioperative spaces while maintaining clinical operations, requiring strategic phasing to minimize disruption.

The Solution

The project scope consisted of a two-phase renovation and reconfiguration of existing clinical spaces. The first phase included an interventional radiology room with an adjacent CT; a standalone IR room; a shelled future IR; a 15-bed PACU; and a clean-corridor connection to the existing clean SPD elevator. The second phase included four general ORs; two endovascular ORs; one shelled endovascular OR; a 24-room prep/stage II recovery unit; and a 10-bed PACU expansion, resulting in 25 total bays.

The Outcome

The project was carried out across two phases while maintaining clinical operations, allowing the client to expand procedural capacity, streamline workflows, and modernize perioperative spaces while minimizing disruption.
