VERTEX was retained by an insurance carrier to investigate the origin & cause of a fire at a commercial lumber yard in New York. The property was an active lumber yard that included a warehouse with transportation bays and several office buildings.
VERTEX’s investigation included visual observations, photographic documentation, and interviews with applicable parties, as well as a review of applicable records.
Based on our investigation, VERTEX concluded that the origin of the fire was in the area of one of the transportation bays inside the warehouse building. Visual observations made by VERTEX showed significant fire and heat patterns in the area of a truck. Electrical testing determined that the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction in the vehicle.
