South Oak Cliff High School, in need of a major upgrade, is undergoing a large project involving demolition of the existing building components in preparation for new construction. VERTEX was retained by the client’s program manager to perform detailed asbestos and hazardous materials surveys of the building in order to develop appropriate cost estimates for complete abatement relative to planned renovations and selected demolition. Based on the inspections, VERTEX prepared comprehensive abatement specifications for the removal of asbestos and hazardous materials associated with the building.
VERTEX was contracted to be on-site throughout all phases of renovation to review the work of remediation contractors and other trades to ensure compliance. On an as-needed basis, VERTEX prepared emergency remediation plans to accommodate the project schedule and budget.
