David is a Director at Vertex, practicing as a delay expert within the EMEA Technical and commercial disputes team. He has over 19 years’ experience acquired across many sectors, including building, energy, healthcare, transportation, and infrastructure. He is an accredited and practicing member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) and the Controls and Skills Authority (MCaSA). He also holds an MSc in Construction Law and was awarded best dissertation by the University of Salford.

During his career, David has held senior roles within main contractor organisations managing the Project Control function on behalf of major blue-chip clients. His background in complex project delivery gives him a wide range of planning and delay analysis skills from tendering through to the commissioning and handover of assets. In 2016, he gained recognition from the European Construction Institute (ECI) by being named Young Professional of the Year. The panel cited David’s “maturity and application of skills beyond his years” as the reason for his success.

David now specialises in construction disputes concerning delay related matters across a wide range of sectors. He is regularly appointed in an Expert Witness capacity in the forensic investigation of delay.
