Oladayo KomolafePhD, PE, R.Eng (Nigeria), M.ASCE, MNSE

Dr. Oladayo Komolafe is an experienced professional with over 10 years in Geotechnical Engineering. His expertise lies in geotechnical site characterization and foundation engineering. Dr. Komolafe started his graduate career as a Site Engineer monitoring the installation of helical piles in Lagos, Nigeria, and later served as a consultant for a number of geotechnical firms in Nigeria. Dr. Komolafe was an academic in Nigeria and later in the United States, where he received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. His Ph.D. research delved into geotechnical engineering using centrifuge experiments and numerical modeling to study lateral soil-pile interactions in sands with varying degrees of saturation, resulting in the development of a p-y curve design theoretical framework in unsaturated cohesionless soils. Over the years, Dr. Komolafe has published a number of papers in geotechnical engineering and has served as a peer reviewer on conference papers for the Geo-Institute of the ASCE. Dr. Komolafe is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, USA, and a Registered Civil Engineer in Nigeria. Dr. Komolafe has affiliations and esteemed memberships with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), to mention a few. Dr. Komolafe is also a Technical Committee Member of Deep Foundations and Engineering Geology & Site Characterization of the Geo-Institute of the ASCE.
