The work consisted of widening NY 347 to accommodate additional travel lanes, improvements to the horizontal and vertical alignment, pavement reconstruction, new drainage systems (including recharge basins and rain gardens), traffic signals at three intersections, solar powered street lighting, ITS, pavement markings, signs, new utilities (gas main, water mains, overhead electric), sound walls, a shared use path, sidewalks, a green stop, bus shelters and extensive landscaping.
The design and construction of this $36 million project was completed in 18 months. The work was constructed in three main stages of work with traffic maintained on the roadway throughout the project duration.
