VERTEX was retained by the surety as a consultant to evaluate the mechanical scope of construction of the Ecole Saint-Joachim School Major Addition & Renovations project. The scope of the project included a LEED-certified addition of a new two-story structure measuring approximately 46,000 square feet. The addition includes 16 new classrooms, a new gymnasium, science classroom, STEM classroom, a vocational area for home economics and industrial arts, and supporting spaces. The scope also includes accompanying envelope and interior renovations to the existing school, plus site and parking modifications.
The bonded principal’s scope of work included the complete supply and installation of mechanical works, including plumbing, rough-ins, existing alterations to plumbing and mechanical equipment, addition of hydronic lines, gas piping, hydronic/plumbing insulation, mechanical modifications/tie-ins to existing school, and air-balancing.
VERTEX’s scope of services included document review, evaluation of project disputes, on-site evaluation of status of work, mechanic lien and claim investigation, cost analysis, forensic accounting of the contract accounting & outstanding funds, reviewing subcontractor/vendor invoices for payment recommendations, providing labor projections for payroll, other construction administration services, and other miscellaneous consulting tasks as requested by the Surety.
