September 17, 2025 – South Yarmouth, MA
VERTEX Fire Investigations, LLC is proud to once again sponsor the Massachusetts Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (MA-IAAI) Annual Training Conference, held this year at the Red Jacket Resort in South Yarmouth.
For more than 10 years, VERTEX has supported MA-IAAI’s mission to provide continuing education and hands-on training to fire investigation professionals. This three-day conference brings together investigators, engineers, and industry leaders to deep dive on a broad array of topics, ranging from appliance construction to failure mode analysis:
- Day 1 (Classroom): Electricity, fuel gases, building codes, product standards, appliance construction, and witness interviews.
- Day 2 (Burn Cell Field Work): Live fire scenarios, scene examinations, lab testing, and failure mode analysis.
- Day 3 (Classroom & Review): Burn cell review, Q&A, and certification testing.
This year, VERTEX Fire’s own Senior Fire Investigator, Thomas Madigan, attended the conference and joined colleagues and peers in the field burn exercises and hands-on sessions. The event highlighted real-world residential kitchen fire scenarios and provided investigators with valuable insights into appliance-related ignition sources and fire behavior.
VERTEX Fire Investigations is honored to continue supporting MA-IAAI’s training initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to advancing professional expertise and strengthening fire investigation practices across Massachusetts and beyond.
