Robert Adams is a Managing Director in VERTEX’s Commercial Damages and Investigations practice based in Irvine, California. Robert has over 33 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry. He holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Claims Professionals (ICCP).

Robert spent 2 decades in the field on construction sites, initially as a document control coordinator, then a site scheduler. Subsequently, he worked in all aspects of project controls, eventually leading a team of analysts as lead planner, and later as project controls lead on multi-billion dollar mega projects in Canada, the United States, and the Middle East.

After 20 years in the field, Robert shifted his focus to consulting, and has spent the past 13 years as a construction delay and claims consultant. Robert regularly provides services and offers expert opinions on all aspects of construction claims, dispute resolution, project risk, and construction management.

Robert brings a unique blend of 2 decades in the field combined with an additional 13 years of skill in construction claims and disputes. Clients regularly comment on his ability to present complex concepts in simple, clear methods.

Robert has been retained to develop reports and presentations for construction-related labor productivity, schedule delay analysis, and impact evaluations, as well as serving in a project advisory role on active construction projects. He has been authoring delay, disruption and damages analysis reports for many years, which he has presented at mediation, arbitration, and trial. He has been deposed and testified as an expert witness on several high-profile matters.
