Prominent Real Estate Economist Joins California’s Most Comprehensive Group of Construction Experts
SOLANA BEACH, CALIF. (Aug. 9th, 2013) – Xpera Group (now part of VERTEX) announced today that Alan Nevin, one of California’s leading real estate economists, has joined the firm as director of economic and market research. The move represents the latest in a series of service expansions for Xpera Group, which in just four years has grown to become California’s most comprehensive group of construction consulting experts.
In his role at Xpera Group, Nevin will provide feasibility studies for developers and investors, as well as forensic expert witness services based on his more than 25 years in practice. His areas of expertise include diminution in value, economic damages, lost profits, real estate finance, land residual valuation and portfolio analysis. He will also continue his role as an advisor to the estate planning community in real estate matters.
Founded in 2009, Xpera Group offers a full range of construction services, including construction forensics and expert witness services, quality assurance, property condition assessment, property loss evaluation and construction management. With the addition of Nevin and the highly valuable expertise he brings to the team, Xpera Group has launched the new economic and market research division to provide a more comprehensive approach to clients’ real estate and construction needs.
Despite forming during the economic downturn, Xpera Group continues to experience rapid growth year over year, with a team that currently includes 50 construction consulting experts. The firm also has established a construction arm through a strategic partnership with Del Mar Pacific General Contractors Inc., which has been building in Southern California for over 20 years.
“Bringing Alan aboard is a major coup for our company because of his national reputation in the field of real estate economics and litigation support,” said Ted Bumgardner, president and founder of Xpera Group. “We anticipate that his division will expand substantially as the economy recovers.”
Nevin’s career includes more than two decades with ConAm Management Co. and 14 years with MarketPointe Realty Advisors. For the past two years, Nevin was affiliated with the London Group, a San Diego consulting firm.
A graduate of Stanford University and American University, Nevin has been an active member of the research community and a long-standing member of the San Diego County Apartment Association, Urban Land Institute and Lambda Alpha, an honorary land economics society. He also served as chief economist for the California Building Industry Association.
