VERTEX recently had the privilege of hosting Larry Spotted Crow Mann, a prominent figure in the native community and a master storyteller. The event commenced with the rhythmic beats of a drum, and Larry shared profound insights into the native experience, reminding us that “the drum is the heartbeat of mother earth.“
Larry’s talent for storytelling served as a bridge to “shift the perspective and close the divide of understanding.” His narrative touched the hearts and minds of everyone in attendance, leaving a lasting impact.
Notably, Larry is the accomplished author of three books, including “Drumming & Dreaming,” “The Mourning Road to Thanksgiving,” and the internationally acclaimed “Tales from the Whispering Basket.” His literary contributions have enriched our understanding of native culture and heritage.
VERTEX is excited to continue its relationship with Larry Spotted Crow Mann and support his important work through the Ohketeau Cultural Center. This partnership reflects our commitment to fostering cultural appreciation and inclusivity.
Kuttabotomish, Larry! Your presence has left an indelible mark on our community, and we eagerly anticipate future collaborations and endeavors.
