When thinking of Worcester, Bostonians may see visions of abandoned mill buildings, but New England’s second largest city is long overdue for a revision of that reputation. With the recent announcement that the Pawtucket Red Sox are moving to “The Woo” in 2021, a brand-new stadium looks to be the centerpiece of new development in the city. Those abandoned factories have been turned into trendy galleries and restaurants, while new buildings fill CitySquare. Worcester is turning into a hip, urban center and drawing in new residents who have been priced out of the region’s eastern cities.
