VERTEX provided in-house architectural and structural services with consulting mechanical and electrical engineering services for a new fuel dispensing canopy and underground storage tank (UST) adjacent to a new convenience store and parking. VERTEX’s diversity and experience allowed us to handle the entire design effort, which included schematic design, construction documents, Kapolei Design Review approval, permitting, bidding, and construction administration. The project required coordination with the convenience store design and contracting team for the location of the fuel monitoring and electrical equipment in the store and the underground electrical ducts. Since there are two separate contractors involved, meetings were held to coordinate the construction sequencing in order to minimize schedule disruptions and delays between the contractor’s work.
