Coney Island Hospital suffered extensive flood damage due to Superstorm Sandy in 2012. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”) provided the funding to develop a permanent plan to mitigate future storms and flooding for the campus. The construction was part of a $922 million plan and included a new building that is stories on the north end of the campus. It included an elevated emergency room and vital medical services located high enough to withstand the flooding projected to occur in a once-in-500-year storm. In addition, there are four-foot concrete flood wall surrounding the entire hospital perimeter. Other renovations included private patient rooms, eight new operating rooms, a labor and delivery suite, and a clinical lab equipped with advanced technology.
VERTEX provided the following scheduling services to the contractor:
- Develop Multiple Phases of Baseline Schedule
- Monthly Schedule Updates including periodic site visits as required/requested.
- Develop and Maintain Medical Equipment and Hospital Move-in Schedule
