VERTEX is the Owner’s Project Manager for the Walpole Middle School project for the Town of Walpole, MA. During the Feasibility Study, VERTEX guided the Town in analyzing two enrollment configurations: a single Middle School to replace the current Bird School or a combined Middle School to incorporate the Johnson School, the other middle school in Town. In order to get a head-start on the project prior to the start of the summer, VERTEX recommended the Town retain a visioning consultant to assist the school department in developing a cohesive middle school education vision for Walpole. Since the architect was scheduled for selection at the start of the summer, this allowed them to begin work immediately on the education program even though access to school personnel was limited in the summer. Although the project was directly impacted by the Covid 19 pandemic, it has remained on its original timeline and broke ground in Fall 2022. The project will utilize Ch 149A CM at Risk. Construction started in September 2022 with occupancy targeted for summer 2024. The final completion will be in the Spring of 2025.
