VERTEX provided structural engineering design services for this new luxury apartment complex prominently located in the Denver Botanical Gardens neighborhood. The complex is a seven-story structure with two levels of underground parking. There are a total of 157 apartment units. The total gross floor area, including the 157 underground parking spaces, is 50,000 SF. The facility includes a large private plaza area and a rooftop deck with an enclosed amenities area.
The building structure consists of post-tensioned concrete floor slabs supported on concrete columns. A three-foot-thick concrete raft foundation system was determined to be best suited to accommodate the site soil conditions at the lower level parking. VERTEX’s expertise and extensive experience with post-tensioned concrete design, mid-rise buildings, and multi-family residential projects were key in being selected to serve as the structural engineer of record for the project.
