A National Property Insurance Carrier requested VERTEX to mobilize within 48 hours after a deadly EF-3 tornado touched down over Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri on May 22, 2019, and damaged multiple automotive dealerships. VERTEX was tasked with performing structural assessments for 100,000+ square feet of commercial retail space including a Chevrolet Dealership (40,000 sf), Toyota Dealership (40,000 sf), Collision Repair Center (24,000 sf) and a Used Car Sales Center (8,000 sf). Once the assessments were completed and the buildings safely stabilized, the client requested VERTEX to evaluate the costs for immediate remediation services, demolition and cleaning services, and engineering and architectural design services. VERTEX then worked with multiple contractors and the local code enforcement official on validating repair cost estimates.
VERTEX found areas to reduce the remediation, oversight, and construction costs which resulted in over $1 million in savings for the Client.
