Christopher (Chris) Johnston is an established entrepreneurial leader in the Ontario environmental market, with significant working experience steering operational initiatives to grow business. He has overseen P&Ls, and has developed annual operating plans and budgets to achieve KPIs on financial, safety and technical considerations. He has effectively recruited top talent to accelerate organizational growth and to achieve operational excellence targets. On the technical front, Chris serves as a subject matter expert in contaminant hydrogeology, Records of Site Conditions (RSCs) and excess soil management. He is a Professional Geoscientist (Limited) in Ontario, a Qualified Person (QPESA) under Ontario Regulation 153/04 and is educated in physical geography.
With professional consulting experience since 1999, Chris has been instrumental in launching and overseeing numerous strategic initiatives to improve performance for environmental management systems, projects, and business markets. His track record has demonstrated a proven ability to attract and maintain clients and staff, negotiate terms and conditions, obtain regulatory approvals, and motivate peers and direct reports to perform to standards of excellence.
Chris has a wide-ranging arsenal of skills that can be innovative or traditional for providing effective leadership within an organization. He can function at a high level while under pressure and make timely and effective decisions. He can provide strategic thinking to implement and develop a given program with a high return on investment. He can listen and respond to feedback in both a timely and well thought manner through cascading of information. He can develop clients and projects from the ground up or expand from mature status. He can successfully advance environmental programs from start to finish through the solicitation of stakeholder input, employment of appropriate resourcing and learning through the experiences of
