Mr. Gaynor earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. He is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and a licensed professional engineer currently in 14 states.
Mr. Gaynor has an extensive design engineering background in industrial and warehouse facilities, retail buildings, schools, park district and municipal facilities, office buildings, hospitals, condominiums and residential single-family homes. His design experience includes structural engineering analysis, design, construction administration, field investigation, project management and estimating material quantities. He has designed roof and floor framing systems utilizing steel bar joists, steel beams and columns, composite steel beams, concrete slabs, concrete beams and columns, precast concrete slab and wall panels, light gauge metal joists, saw cut and engineered wood joists, reinforced and unreinforced masonry walls, and engineered wood trusses. He has analyzed existing structures composed of the previously mentioned materials as well as concrete joist framing systems and arched floor/roof framing systems. He has designed various foundation systems using spread footings, concrete caissons, grade beams, steel piles and mats. Mr. Gaynor has also performed structural design and evaluation of aluminum and fiberglass members.
