Tom Frieden
Scientist I, Remediation
Tom Frieden earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from James Madison University with a concentration in Environmental Engineering and additional areas of study including environmental soil science and hydrogeology. Upon joining VERTEX, Tom worked as a field scientist supporting large-scale development projects in Boston, MA where he oversaw excavation and managed the disposal of contaminated soils. Tom subsequently transferred to the Mid-Atlantic region where he continued to develop experience in remediation field methods and site investigations. Currently, Tom specializes in environmental site characterization and impacted soil management associated with commercial real estate transactions and redevelopment projects. Tom earned a Geologist-in-Training (G.I.T) designation from the National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG) and is currently working towards his Professional Geology (P.G.) licensure.
