William Otten

Mr. Otten joined VERTEX in May of 2014 and serves as Senior Project Manager for the Pennsylvania office. Prior to VERTEX, Mr. Otten was employed as an Environmental Specialist/ Senior Project Manager with the same company for over 20 years.
Mr. Otten has extensive experience in the Environmental Consulting industry in a wide range of environmental aspects. He has completed over 200 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in compliance with ASTM guidelines for a diverse client base. He has also conducted numerous Phase II Environmental Site Assessments involving soil and groundwater sampling, geophysical subsurface evaluations and underground storage tank closure projects.
Mr. Otten specializes in microbial investigations and indoor air quality evaluations. He has completed over 100 industrial hygiene projects including exposure evaluations to meet applicable OSHA standards and evaluation of surface contamination via wipe testing for various contaminants. He has also completed a myriad of asbestos identification surveys and has over 12,000 hours of project management experience for asbestos abatement projects. In addition, Mr. Otten has provided expert testimony/litigation support for clients involving Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and mold investigation projects.
