Vice President, Loss Control
Mr. Strzempko is a Vice President and Head of Loss Control at The Vertex Companies, Inc. Responsibilities include: management of teams providing insurance sector Loss Control support and Risk Management services on Environmental EIL, GL Plus, Construction OCIP, and CCIP risks; and management of Environmental Insurance accounts (claims).
Mr. Strzempko has 35+ years of experience in the environmental industry with the last 20 years focused on the insurance industry and attendant Loss Control services. His fields of expertise include: environmental / property / construction risk management, underwriting, control, and financing; site assessment; cause and origin; fate and transport; remediation and remedial investigation; remedy selection and cost evaluation; and analytical chemistry. A broad range of projects have been managed for domestic and international insurers within the United States as well as worldwide. Mr. Strzempko also served as a Project Manager for 10 years with Weston Solutions as part of EPA Region I’s Superfund Technical Assistance Team for a broad range of industrial incidents regulated under CERCLA, SARA, RCRA, TSCA, and OPA90.
Mr. Strzempko has served as an expert witness providing litigation support and/or actively participating in several environmental insurance legal matters based on his education, training, and extensive experience in the remediation of releases of oil and hazardous materials, understanding of costs for remedial activities, and knowledge of compliance and reporting requirements. Mr. Strzempko’s legal support proceedings have included depositions, interrogatories, mediation, arbitration, and trial testimony.
