Xpera’s documentation and tracking system for mobile devices offers real-time access and reporting for Quality Assurance programs
Xpera Group (now part of VERTEX) announced today the launch of InSpec®, a new proprietary tool for the firm’s quality inspection service.
Quality Assurance has been an important part of Xpera Group’s business since its inception in 2009. With the acquisition of Roel Consulting Services Inc. in 2012, which had its own long-established QA service business, Xpera Group has established itself as a leader in this dynamic and challenging field. The firm’s QA specialists have decades of experience in forensic investigation and have performed failure analyses on hundreds of residential and commercial projects. Now, Xpera Group has combined this extensive real-world construction experience with a state-of-the-art documentation and tracking system – which has now been completely redesigned and enhanced as InSpec® – to better serve the needs of its builder and developer clients.
InSpec® works on standard mobile and tablet devices, allowing inspections to be performed, tracked, documented, analyzed, and shared entirely in the field in real-time, eliminating the typical delays of waiting for people to return the office, manually entering data into a computer, creating reports and then sending results out to the team. The result is a smarter, far more efficient process in which issues or concerns can be addressed immediately, saving time and cost throughout the project.
Quality Assurance services include:
- Plan review and constructability analysis
- Site inspections covering installation of all building systems using InSpec® mobile technology
- Online tracking of action items and photo documentation of resolutions/repairs
- Thorough photo documentation of the work with full descriptions of locations and conditions observed
- Immediate electronic reports to superintendents and managers following inspections, with weekly progress reports
- An interactive CD containing a database of all photographs and documentation upon project completion
“On the forensics side of our business, we have seen the disastrous consequences of quality control gone wrong,” said Xpera Group President, Ted Bumgardner. “Decades of those ‘lessons learned’ have enabled us to develop quality assurance strategies and processes that builders can integrate into their projects from day one. When these quality activities are planned, performed, tracked, and documented in real-time using InSpec®, the entire team can be confident that the project is being built right the first time – avoiding costing problems down the road.”
