Chelsea Cullum to Attend 17th Annual Women in Construction Conference on Oct. 19th

October 18, 2023

Elevating Women’s Role in Construction: Chelsea Cullum (Breakwater) Joins 17th Annual Conference.

Chelsea Cullum, representing Breakwater (a VERTEX Company), is set to attend the 17th Annual Women in Construction Conference on October 19th, 2023. Hosted at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C., the event promises to “Elevate & Celebrate” the contributions of women in the construction industry.

Women in Construction, Inc. is renowned as the East Coast’s premier platform for educational and professional development within the construction sector. The organization places a strong emphasis on networking, creating opportunities, and fostering growth. Their motto, “By Women, for Women,” reflects their commitment to empowering women across various fields, including architecture, engineering, construction, the trades, real estate, law, and consulting.

The annual conference, now in its 17th year, provides a unique platform for women to learn from seasoned executives and industry professionals. It offers invaluable networking and mentoring opportunities for all attendees. Each year, over 400 men and women from diverse backgrounds attend, representing a wide spectrum of disciplines, including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, architects, engineers, and professionals from trade associations, nonprofits, construction consulting firms, and law practices throughout the United States and Canada.

The feedback garnered from previous years has been consistently enthusiastic and heartfelt. Attendees have described the Women in Construction Conference as an incredible experience that has a lasting impact on their careers.

Part of the conference’s proceeds will be directed toward mission-aligned causes. Historically, Women in Construction (WIC) has supported initiatives such as the ACE Mentoring Program, providing scholarships and mentorship opportunities to high school and college students pursuing careers in architecture, construction, and engineering. They have also contributed to the Grace Gold Memorial Scholarship Fund and Hard Hatted Woman.

Chelsea Cullum’s participation in this event underscores Breakwater’s commitment to advancing the construction industry and promoting the empowerment of women within it. Her presence at the conference promises to be a valuable contribution to the ongoing dialogue surrounding diversity and inclusion in construction-related fields.
