VERTEX, through the Massachusetts and Colorado offices, recently collected toys, games, clothing, and food items and delivered the gifts to local charitable organizations in Boston and Denver metro areas. In Massachusetts, VERTEX donated through the Weymouth Youth and Family Services. In Denver, VERTEX donated through the Hope House of Colorado.
The Weymouth Youth and Family Services (WYFS) program started in the mid-1980s in the parking lot of the Town Hall. They now service over 400 families annually during the holiday season. WYFS provides year-round emergency assistance to needy families in Weymouth. Food, clothing, and shelter needs are addressed largely through the generous donations received during the annual Family Christmas Celebration. Held on the first Friday in December, this traditional event is a time in which the whole community bands together for the betterment of its most fragile members.
The Denver-based charity, Hope House of Colorado, started in 2000 with the idea to rehabilitate young mothers who have come from backgrounds of poverty and abuse. The program gives young mothers the resources they need to become a successful part of society through assistance that is focused on continuing education.
Bill McConnell, CEO of VERTEX said, “The holiday collection for donations has become a tradition at VERTEX. We are always humbled by the experience and very proud of our team for taking the time to give back to our communities.”
