VERTEX is pleased to announce the Methamphetamine Initial Training Course 2025, led by Alexander Johnsen, M.S., CIH, Managing Consultant – Industrial Hygiene & Building Sciences. This comprehensive course will be conducted via a hybrid model (online and in-person) in Denver, Colorado from March 18-20, 2025 (Tuesday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
Participants will engage in in-depth discussions on meth-affected properties, covering essential statutes and regulations. The curriculum includes assessments, sampling procedures, updated industrial hygiene best practices, decontamination methods, and reporting requirements. Upon completion, attendees will receive a certificate required for performing assessments, decontamination, or sampling of methamphetamine-affected properties in Colorado.
Additionally, on March 18, 2025 (Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Alex will conduct an 8-hour Methamphetamine Refresher Course, designed for professionals who need to renew their certification and stay current with evolving industry standards.

About the Instructor
Alex Johnsen brings over a decade of experience in construction and environmental remediation across multiple industries. As a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), he holds expertise in industrial hygiene, regulatory compliance, mold inspection, and more. Alex has provided deposition testimony, written expert reports, and assisted colleagues with defense reports.
Alex earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Colorado and an M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Denver. His specialized training includes roles as an Asbestos Project Designer, Air Monitoring Specialist, and Methamphetamine Consultant, along with certifications in OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and X-Ray Fluorescence Lead Analysis (XRF).
