VERTEX Supports Girl Scout Troop Volunteer Opportunity in Hopkinton, MA

December 18, 2025

On November 16th, OPM team members from the Hopkins School Project and Designer Staff from the Charleswood School Project represented VERTEX and Perkins Eastman at a community volunteer opportunity with a local Girl Scout Daisy troop in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

VERTEX and Perkins Eastman worked collaboratively to organize and facilitate the session, introducing the girls to careers in construction and the built environment through an engaging, hands-on building activity. The experience emphasized problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity, offering an approachable and interactive way for the girls to explore real-world skills and professions.

Leaders from Daisy Troop 63306 shared positive feedback following the event, noting the girls’ enthusiasm throughout the afternoon and their excitement during the building exercise. The troop leaders highlighted the team’s patience, encouragement, and ability to guide the girls as they worked through challenges together, helping make the experience both educational and memorable.

This volunteer initiative reflects VERTEX’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and early educational outreach. By supporting opportunities that introduce young students to construction-related careers while transforming the buildings they learn in, VERTEX continues to foster meaningful connections while encouraging the next generation to explore paths within the design and construction industry.

The Charleswood School Project and Hopkins School Project represent the second and third school buildings VERTEX has managed as Owner’s Project Manager for the Town of Hopkinton over the past 10 to 12 years. These projects are part of a long-standing partnership with the Town, and many of the team members involved live and work in Massachusetts, bringing both professional experience and personal connection to the community. Participation in this event reflects continuity between the work VERTEX delivers and the communities those projects serve.
