We are excited to announce that Suzanne S. Blevins, B.S. SM(ASCP) has joined VERTEX as our new Technical Lead for Industrial Hygiene & Building Sciences (I.H.B.S.) and Healthcare, in Washington, D.C.
Suzanne’s passion for science began with her early interest in biology, geology, and chemistry, which led to an impressive 48-year career in laboratory biological sciences. Her journey started at American Medical Laboratory, Inc. (AML), where she spent 20 years honing her expertise in clinical pathogens, diagnostics, and laboratory operations.
As a Specialist in Microbiology, certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology SM(ASCP), Suzanne’s expertise spans bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and laboratory quality operations. Her career evolved in the 1990s when she became deeply involved in addressing Sick Building Syndrome, blending her clinical knowledge with building science microbiology.
In 1997, Suzanne founded Aerobiology Laboratory Associates, Inc., where she pioneered AIHA-accredited testing and analytical methods. Her leadership grew Aerobiology into a national presence, supporting healthcare pathogen investigations, building science assessments, and USP 797 compliance testing. Suzanne’s extensive experience and dedication to quality make her a valuable asset to the VERTEX team.
In her new role at VERTEX, Suzanne will contribute to our Industrial Hygiene & Building Sciences services, specializing in healthcare acquired infections (HAI) assessments, waterborne pathogens, clean rooms (USP <797>) compliance, and indoor air quality. Her experience will enhance our ability to provide top-tier services across various industries, ensuring a healthy and safe environment for all our clients.
