VERTEX was retained by a Surety upon the default-termination of a contractor reconstructing a 1-mile section of roadway in Raleigh, NC. VERTEX was tasked with obtaining unit price bids to complete the project which could be tendered to the municipality Obligee. A particular challenge was the evaluation of the materials which were procured and stored, but of questionable quality and incorrect quantities. After receiving bids, VERTEX assisted with negotiating costs with the low bidder and ultimately obtained a bid which satisfied the requirements of the project, was acceptable to the Obligee, and was a favorable result for the Surety.
