VERTEX acted as consultant to the surety on a portfolio comprising of five projects throughout the DFW Metroplex in Texas. The size and scope of the projects varied and included sidewalk improvements for the City of Plano, a bus wash for Fort Worth Independent School District in Fort Worth, addition of a new terminal for the Granbury Regional Airport in Granbury, construction of a new hike & bike trail in Flowermound, and a new swimming pool/bathhouse for the City of Waxahachie. Of the five projects, VERTEX was able to organize RFPs and facilitate the execution of Tender Agreements with new contractors for the sidewalk improvements, bus wash, and airport terminal projects. VERTEX worked alongside counsel to the Surety to negotiate a buyout of the hike & bike trail project’s performance and payment bonds with the Obligee. For the pool and bathhouse in Waxahachie, VERTEX operated as the completion contractor, fulfilling the contract requirements and turning the project over in time for the Obligee’s 4th of July celebrations.
VERTEX’s scope of services included cost analysis, ratifying subcontractors, RFP formation and analysis, management of all trades, lead Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings, reviewing subcontractor invoices, processing owner payment application, project closeout, and other construction administration services.
