VERTEX conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of a distribution facility located in Orlando, Florida. The site consisted of two contiguous parcels of land totaling approximately 42.26 acres of land which were improved with a single-story approximately 562,000 SF warehouse building.
VERTEX personnel performed a site visit, interviewed key site personnel, reviewed prior environmental reports, researched the site history, and reviewed public records available at municipal and state offices to evaluate the environmental risk associated with the site. The site historically was part of a larger Air Force Base beginning in the late 1940s. VERTEX reviewed available records regarding previous investigations and remedial work conducted in connection with the former Air Base, including review and evaluation of previous investigation and remedial work conducted at the former base landfill that the site historically was a part of. VERTEX’s review included an evaluation of the Land Use Controls that had been implemented at the former landfill and subject site. VERTEX provided ongoing communication regarding these environmental issues throughout the assessment period.
