VERTEX conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) at an undeveloped parcel that was utilized as a quarry between 1958 and 1973. At some point after 1973, the site was filled with soil of unknown origin. A Phase II investigation conducted by VERTEX identified that some areas of fill material were impacted with petroleum and/or metals, above Florida Residential Soil Cleanup Target levels (SCTLs), but below Commercial SCTLs. As the site was slated for residential development, VERTEX prepared and implemented a Soil Management Plan (SMP) that was executed during the developmental process, to maximize efficiencies.
