About this Project
LKB provided Resident Engineering services on this $24 million project, which involved eliminating the at-grade crossing by lowering Roslyn Road on a new alignment, to the west, while raising the railroad’s profile. Four temporary bridges were used to carry the LIRR tracks over the re-aligned road during construction, while a permanent new structure was built over the tracks. The project also included a large amount of local infrastructure work, including relocation of major utilities, construction of new roadways, curb and sidewalk lighting, drainage (including two new recharge basins) and demolition of seven commercial buildings and two residential units.
