The project consisted of a new ground-up Catholic Church with a total area of 45,000 s.f.  that was constructed in two phases. The building has a full basement that contains office space, meeting rooms, and mechanical space.  The ground level contains a social hall, the Narthex, the main worship space, and the Adoration Chapel. The foundation was drilled concrete piers extending to bedrock due to the expansive soils at the site. The main floor structure is open-web steel joists with a concrete slab on metal deck. The exterior walls were steel studs with a brick veneer that concealed the braced frames to resist wind and seismic loading. Structural steel beams and custom design steel trusses were used to frame the soaring complex geometry of the roof. This new church facility is meeting the needs of the growing Roman Catholic Church community in Longmont, CO, and the surrounding areas.
