VTX was brought in to assist a General Contractor with its incomplete projects. VTX assessed the status of several ongoing projects, prepared multiple cost to complete reports, and prepared an overall financial analysis. Based on the findings, VTX was retained to provide project management and site monitoring on a bridge replacement contract that was only 50% complete in Western Canada.
This project involved the ratification of subs and vendors as well as coordinating/sourcing of replacement subtrades to complete the contract. The work was located on a major highway and consisted of the construction of a single-span concrete bridge over a large creek. The project included paving, landscaping, the construction of two ungulate pathways under the bridge, and the construction of a paved walking/bicycle pathway running parallel to the highway. During the completion of the project, VTX had to address numerous deficiency items. The completion schedule and timing were critical due to the environmental sensitivity of the location.
Aside from the services noted above, VTX provided a cost-benefit analysis and funds control services on a monthly basis for nearly one year. VTX handled any warranty issues for the year following the project’s completion as per the original contract specifications.
