Mr. Norwood is an architect with over thirty-three years of experience in the design and construction industry. His background includes design, consulting, management, and owner’s representation on a wide range of project types.
Mr. Norwood has consulted on the behalf of contractors, homeowners, subcontractors, developers, homeowner associations, architects, engineers, finance companies, county governments, school districts, hospitals, and others. Mr. Norwood is licensed in 11 States and has provided architectural consulting and/or expert witness testimony for mediation, arbitration, and trial settings. His experience includes issues such as architectural standard of care, building code compliance, product manufacturer’s requirements, schedule delay entitlement, design errors, design changes, incomplete work, contract interpretation, fire resistive assemblies and smoke control assemblies, building envelope issues, and allowable costs, among others. Building envelope issues have included brick veneers, EIFS, stucco, sealants, HPL panels, solar panel building integration, plastics and related fire resistive requirements, concrete block, flashing, windows, storefronts, curtain walls, roofing and siding. He has prepared construction repair drawings for multiple projects including designs conveyed in innovative three – dimensional detailing.
His background includes consulting for manufacturers of construction products regarding US building code requirements and construction methods. Mr. Norwood has developed intellectual property for innovative construction products and holds multiple US and foreign patents.
