C. Mike RosePE

Forensic Engineer

Mike Rose has a strong background in residential and commercial buildings, structural systems, and building analysis. He is a licensed professional engineer in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. He has experience with consultation and design of concrete, wood, steel, and masonry structural systems in residential and commercial applications with an emphasis on the development and application of building code requirements, especially as it relates to damaged structures and their repair.

Mr. Rose has a strong background in determining the causes of failures related to structural and mechanical components. He has seven years of experience diagnosing failures and designing repairs in a Nuclear Power Plant. He also has five years of experience applying those skills to residential and commercial buildings as he owned and operated an engineering firm prior to working for VERTEX. Typical work for his firm included structural assessments of existing residential and commercial structures after the discovery of structural failure or prior to construction, renovation, and/or installation of solar panels. The firm also provided septic and site plan design, including stormwater management and maintenance plans for approval by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

Mr. Rose uses this unique set of skills and experiences as a forensic engineer specializing in evaluating the cause, the extent of damage, as well as repair and design recommendations for structural and building envelope issues for residential and commercial applications. He has applied his knowledge as a member of the forensic engineering division at VERTEX to provide clients with structural damage assessments, cause and origin investigations, and code-compliant repair and design recommendations for residential and commercial applications. In addition, he has experience in assessing damages and repairs to structural members, roof systems, foundations, and Sub-Surface Sewage Disposal Systems.
