VERTEX completed work for a real estate developer who demolished a former ice cream factory to redevelop the property with multi-family residential structures. As per the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPS) regulation, VERTEX conducted a thorough asbestos, lead, and universal waste survey to identify and quantify materials required to be removed prior to initiating any renovation/demolition activities. Utilizing the data compiled during the survey, VERTEX prepared abatement bid packages and individual abatement specifications for asbestos, lead, and universal wastes to be followed by the abatement contractor. On behalf of the Client, VERTEX interviewed each interested contractor, assisted the client with bid package reviews, and attended pre-abatement meetings with the awarded contractor to discuss the scope of work.
VERTEX licensed asbestos professionals then performed monitoring of the asbestos-containing materials abatement; Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Lead in Construction compliance; and proper removal, handling, and transportation of universal wastes.
Upon completion of all abatement activities, VERTEX prepared a Final Project history report to summarize activities performed at the property which was used to obtain the demolition permit.
