VERTEX is bettering our Communities – Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge – The Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC) organizes the EBEE Awards, an annual event that acknowledges remarkable achievements in environmental management, energy resources, and climate change. This year the Cambridge Crossing construction project was nominated for this award. EBEE Awards aim to recognize companies, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and environmental professionals who serve as exemplary models for others to follow. By highlighting their accomplishments, the EBC encourages the broader community to emulate their successes and contribute to the EBC’s mission and objectives. The EBEE Awards are presented at the EBC’s Annual Award Celebration, usually held in June, providing a platform to showcase the outstanding work and dedication of the recipients.
More About the Cambridge Crossing Project
Starting in 2010, VERTEX has worked on an environmental strategy for the 30-acre Cambridge Crossing site in Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge. From a comprehensive site investigation, to addressing environmental concerns and collaborating with the design team to plan site improvements, VERTEX also worked closely with regulatory authorities to streamline compliance strategies. We acted as the environmental lead during the construction of a 20-story tower, overseeing soil management and ensuring compliance. VERTEX continues to provide strategic and technical consulting services for the ongoing redevelopment of additional parcels at the site, focusing on environmental sustainability and compliance. The following video was presented this year at the award ceremony for a general scope of the excellent work that this project has brought to the city and the AEC industry.
