VERTEX at the 2024 EPAZ Conference in Arizona

February 13, 2024

In an effort to keep pace with the ever-evolving environmental regulations and practices, VERTEX’s Jeremy A. (Jay) Jacobson will be attending the upcoming EPAZ (Environmental Professionals of Arizona) Conference. This will take place at the DoubleTree Conference Center, 2100 South Priest Drive, Tempe, AZ, on February 26 – 27, 2024. This event is an exceptional platform for professionals to gain insights into the latest regulatory updates concerning Air, Soil, Water, and Waste management.

The conference is set to feature an array of topics crucial for industry professionals, municipalities, and medical facilities. Key areas of discussion will include regulatory and technical updates related to AIR, WASTE, and WATER management, NEPA/ESA, emergency response strategies, EPCRA, and OSHA/H&S compliance.

Highlighting the event will be keynote speeches from Karen Peters, Cabinet Executive Officer/Executive Director at the Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality, and Tom Buschatzke, Director at the Arizona Dept. of Water Resources. Their insights are eagerly anticipated by the attendees.

An intriguing City Manager’s Panel Discussion is also on the agenda, moderated by Sowjanya Chintalpati, Deputy Director at ADEQ. Panelists include Henry Darwin, Peoria City Manager; Greg Clifton, Flagstaff City Manager; Joshua Wright, Chandler City Manager; and Mike DiDomenico, Tempe City Manager. This discussion is expected to provide valuable perspectives on local environmental management challenges and strategies.

Additionally, a focused PFAS Panel Discussion will be moderated by Taryn McKnight, PFAS Practice Leader at Eurofins. Joining her are experts AnnieLu DeWitt from Clean Harbors, Morgan Greenwald from Geosyntec Consultants, Matt Narter from ADEQ, and Mike Sherer from Trinity Consultants. This discussion is particularly relevant given the increasing attention on PFAS issues in environmental management.
