Enhancing Student Living and Campus Connection at Brandeis University

On Friday, October 31, Brandeis University celebrated the groundbreaking of its new graduate student residence hall in Waltham, Massachusetts — marking the start of a transformative project that will redefine the student living experience on campus. Representatives from VERTEX’s Owner’s Project Management (OPM) team joined university leadership, design, and construction partners to commemorate the occasion.

As Brandeis embarks on one of its most significant campus investments, the new residence hall will deliver approximately 631 beds and create a vibrant residential community designed to foster connection, well-being, and inclusion. The five-story, all-electric building will feature 14 residential “neighborhoods,” community kitchens and lounges, fitness and social spaces, and a courtyard for outdoor gathering — all designed with sustainability and accessibility at the forefront.

Serving as the university’s Owner’s Project Manager, VERTEX is overseeing planning, design, and construction to ensure the successful delivery of this first phase of Brandeis’s long-term student housing plan.

The project team also includes William Rawn Associates as Architect and Dimeo Construction Company as General Contractor.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2027, marking a new chapter in Brandeis University’s commitment to enhancing student life and campus infrastructure.
