VERTEX served as Owner’s Project Manager for the renovation of the Boston University 610 Beacon Street Residence Hall project (formally known as Myles Standish Residence Hall). This project was a complete renovation of the existing Residence Hall and Annex dormitories. 610 Beacon Street is a 9-story building plus a basement constructed in 1925. The Annex is a 4-story building plus a basement built in 1920. 610 Beacon Street and the Annex have a combined total of 204,000 square feet. The project included new suite layouts, new elevators, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical and electrical systems. The exterior façade included approximately 80% replacement of brick and cast stone and all new windows and roof. The project was completed in three phases. The phased construction allowed BU to partially occupy the building with approximately 375 students.
