In support of the acquisition and redevelopment of a resort located in Puerto Rico, VERTEX performed an environmental site assessment, comprehensive asbestos-containing materials survey, and subsurface investigations to assess for multiple releases from underground storage tanks (USTs) containing gasoline and fuel oil at the Resort, a 24-building hotel complex located in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico. VERTEX completed the investigations on an expedited time frame to evaluate the scope of asbestos abatement and remediation required at the property. Negotiations with regulatory officials were conducted to accurately determine remediation goals. VERTEX provided budget and value engineering analysis to provide the design and cost of the entire project including demolition of buildings, asbestos abatement, and remediation.
