The Ft. Bliss Hospital Replacement is a 1.1 million total square foot facility consisting of six buildings including a seven-story hospital building, two outpatient clinics, various support facilities, and flatwork. VERTEX served as the surety’s construction consultant following the termination of the original specialties subcontractor at the Project. The subcontractor’s scope of work consisted of furnishing and installing curtain wall coverings, corner guards, handrails and crash rails, and other finish protection accessories throughout the multiple buildings. Additionally, the subcontractor was responsible for installing metal louvers at the hospital and several other support buildings. VERTEX’s services included initial investigation activities, deficient work and delay claim defense, assistance in the preparation of affirmative claims submitted on behalf of the Principal, various cost and schedule analyses, mediation assistance, and other miscellaneous consulting services for the surety.
