VERTEX served as the Owner’s Project Manager for the Town of Westwood Public Safety Facilities Task Force. The Task Force, established to arrive at a solution to both Westwood’s fire and police facilities issues, had commenced detailed planning for the Islington fire substation and a feasibility study for a new police station to replace its severely undersized current facility. The catalyst for the Town’s desire to review all its public safety facilities was the new University Avenue Station development located near the Rt 128 train station. With this development and the additional retail, office, and residential buildings, the Town expected a 10% increase in its current call volume.
