Mr. Jacobson is an accomplished Project Manager at VERTEX, based in the Scottsdale, Arizona office. He has nearly ten years of specialized experience in environmental consulting, health and safety compliance, and engineering services. He has successfully led a wide range of projects across the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii, as well as internationally in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, supporting clients in sectors including military/public facilities, multifamily housing, retail and office, manufacturing, hospitality, and undeveloped land.
Mr. Jacobson’s technical expertise spans Field Engineering, Construction and Workplace Safety Management, Property Condition Assessments, Environmental Due Diligence, Remediation Services, and Building Sciences. He has managed complex environmental investigations and remediation efforts, including Phase II Subsurface Investigations, hazardous materials assessments, UST removals, hydrogeologic studies, site characterization, and brownfield redevelopment. He is also highly experienced in identifying, designing, and implementing asbestos, lead, mold, and radon abatement strategies.
He holds an M.S. in Engineering Technology — Survey Engineering from the University of Maine and a B.S. in Environmental Science — Biology from Norwich University. As a Program Adviser, he is completing an Executive Education program in Strategic Artificial Intelligence at the University of Colorado — Colorado Springs, reflecting his commitment to integrating innovative technologies into environmental practice.
Mr. Jacobson maintains a wide range of professional certifications, including State of Nevada Certified Environmental Manager, Certified ScrumMaster, FAA Remote Pilot Certificate, Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner, and Project Designer; and EPA Lead Risk Assessor and Inspector. He is trained in OSHA and HAZWOPER protocols, including 40-hour HAZWOPER, OSHA 30/10, and EM 385-1-1 Construction Safety Awareness.
He is well-versed in federal and state regulatory frameworks. He ensures compliance with ASTM standards, EPA All Appropriate Inquiry, HUD, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, USACE, NAVFAC, OSHA, and project-specific client requirements. At VERTEX, Mr. Jacobson also leads business development initiatives, manages client relationships, and oversees project planning, execution, and quality control—contributing to the strategic expansion of the firm’s environmental operations in Arizona and the Rocky Mountain Region.
