Kevin MaxwellPE, RRC, PMP

Vice President, Forensics

Mr. Maxwell has over almost 25 years of experience in management, engineering, expert witness support, claims management, and risk assessment and is a Vice President of the Forensic division at VERTEX. Mr. Maxwell is a Professional Engineer (PE) in multiple states, is a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), and a Project Management Consultant (PMP). This education and experience enables him to opine on building costs and defects from both a damages and liability perspective utilizing a design and construction approach. Mr. Maxwell is an expert witness who provides testimony and expert support to construction defect casees with a special emphases in roofing, waterproofing, and costs.

Mr. Maxwell’s past expertise includes managing the engineering and construction division of a large roofing contractor in the Southeast. This experience enabled him to familiarize himself with proper construction means and methods. He has worked on a wide range of projects throughout the country including but not limited to the investigation of structural defects, structural collapses, water intrusion, building envelope deficiencies, roof damage (hail), wind vs. surge, building settlement, retaining wall collapses, and utility pipe collapses for both residential and commercial buildings along with oversight and consulting on new/ renovation projects. Mr. Maxwell was deployed on extended CAT assignments for Hurricane Irene, Alabama tornados, Hurricane Sandy, and Hurricane Irma. Mr. Maxwell, as a Certified Cost Engineer and professional estimator, was an independent project controls consultant for the 55 billion dollar nuclear cleanup project for the Department of Energy’s Environmental Office of Project Assistance and Assurance Office (EM-53) in Washington, DC. Prior to federal government consulting, Mr. Maxwell had extensive engineering and construction management experience acting as project engineer, project manager, and owner’s on-site representative for several commercial and residential construction projects. The aforementioned engineering and construction management experience included but was not limited to site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and hydrology.
